Knowledge is in itself a bad thing

Anybody can prove that ignorance is bliss and that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. 
Doctors and priests may forbid knowledge to those who accept their authority; and social media may be made effective by acts of legal persecution under the cover of repressing blasphemy, obscenity and troublemaking. 
And now governments openly forbid us to pursue knowledge (on social media) on the grounds that knowledge is in itself a bad thing, or that it is possible for any of use to have too much of it. Why is that do you think??
