To my children:
When you're really struggling financially, don't always look for money. That's only temporary - Look for work and ultimately passive wealth/income. That becomes consistent and is drop fed. The excess money can be saved with investing and the rest you give away. Figure out how to invest the savings. Start investing early in life and be consistent. Learn how to be poor with dignity and grace too... Don't think money as an identity. Learning to live the life of lack as well as wealth. Try to avoid debt... even when banks try to tie you down with a mortgage for life. Debt can define your future. Let your spirit fly without debt even though it may take more time, at least you will be free to pursuit your dreams and passions. Sometimes it's okay to let go or sell something that makes a loss - like a house or investment that didn't go according to plan. Do it or else you'll hold on to it and feel trapped in a cage of waiting for the tide to turn but it doesn't - Just let go and move on - time is precious and there is better things to occupy your mind. The medical profession will lie daily, in consultation and in the media, about the qualities of the drugs they live by selling, because it's customary to do so. Once it's become customary it will be practiced by all those to whom it is not at all natural, but whose rule of life is simply to do only what everybody else does, and who would lose their job if they asked questions.
