One of the biggest differences in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medinine, is that it directs its awareness to the whole person, physiological and psychological. All relevant information, including symptoms as well as the patients general characteristics, are compiled together to form a pattern of disharmony. This pattern describes the imbalance and a skilled practitioner will try to unravel the pattern. Nothing is compartmentalized. Body, mind and spirit are seen as one system within the individual person.
